My Company
QLI [ erstwhile QuickLearn Institute] has been successfully providing professional coaching for commerce and other professional courses in commerce like CA ( Chartered Accountancy), CS (Company Secretary) and CWA ( Cost and Works Accountancy) from its inception and has since, seen a good increase in the number of students.
QLI was found in June 2010 with the vision of providing professional coaching . It believes in coaching with individual attention to each student which is very necessary since every student is unique.
My way to connecting the right dots
I do not avoid mistakes. You do not realise it's a mistake until it's committed. And major lesson's of business are truly an outcome of mistakes. The fun is playing the game and not dodging it!
My way of motivating troops
I connect them to their goals in life. Once they are clear of what they want in life and how their role at QLI is a path to that goal, motivation is redundant. An individual clear of his goals in life is self generating.
Way to start from scratch again
I would project my cash flows to the detail and have all my receipts and payments on schedule.
I wouldn't have spent any money on merchandising. I would have hired a sale & marketing staff right at the inception. [ In the first 1 year i did most of the work myself. Now i realize this would have been a golden period to build a super team.]
Most critical decision
The most critical decision i had to take was requesting an employee to resign. After a couple of months of hiring an employee, i realized the work provided by him wasn't good enough. The person was in need of a job and removing him would mean some hardship to him. At the same time, considering the enterprises benefits, it wasn't making business sense to continue with his employment. Thus had to request the person to resign on immediate basis.
Advice for fellow entrepreneurs
Create an enterprise that makes a difference to humanity. Money is a by-product!
My key thoughts
Inspiration is contagious. Pass it on!!
Competition is just a concept. If you're good with what you're doing, results will definitely follow. There's scope for growth for everyone! Consider pulling people with you in your development. Walking over will lead you only a few steps ahead!
